Family Birth Center at Rush University Medical Center
Rush Family Birth Center

Delivering and nurturing babies — including the most fragile and vulnerable — is nothing new to Rush; we’ve been doing it for decades. We combine evidence-based medicine (the application of the latest research findings to decision-making) with compassionate care to help babies thrive and families grow.

And now our team of obstetric and neonatal specialists have taken everything they know about science and patient care to help design a comfortable, family-centered facility: the Rush Family Birth Center.

New Facility, Same Quality of Care

In the new facility, every service related to delivering and caring for a baby is on the same floor:
This makes pregnancy, the birthing experience — and what follows — easier on families, with fewer steps to travel and less movement for tiny babies.

It also puts clinicians close to the staff and equipment they need in emergent situations when seconds count most.

Designed for Comfort and Optimal Care

Thoughtfully planned, the new birth center features spacious birthing suites and private, single mother-baby suites that are roomy and comfortable. The same is true for obstetrical triage rooms. And the single NICU rooms support more than family bonding; they promote the following:
  • Better infection control
  • Minimization of light and noise and maintenance of consistent temperature to create a supportive and therapeutic environment for these fragile babies
The Rush Family Birth Center offers families safety, comfort and a highly trained team. What more could you want for your baby’s first bedroom?
